The C client library does indeed support some picogui-specific
arguments, but what you probably want is the PGSERVER environment
variable, which is part of the pgui-protocol document.
It works like X's DISPLAY environment variable, except that each part is
optional. You can simply set PGSERVER to the hostname of the machine
with the server you want to connect to.

Everything picogui sends over the network should be cross-platform. All
numbers are sent in network byte order, themes are run using a VM.
