Merry Christmas to all xine users! There are 2 big news items regarding the xine project: First of all, the xine arts contest has been prolonged. So if you wanted to create a logo, some skin, a trailer, or whatever piece of artwork you're good in: You have another chance. The new deadline is: January 18th, 2003. New submissions (via email to me, or to the xine-user mailing list) will be added to the voting pages (http://xinehq.de/polls) on a first come-first served basis. The voting period will finally end on January 25th, 2003. There are still those exclusive prizes to win: A xine T-shirt, a xine coffee mug and 3 xine postcards, all hand-signed and with personal dedication from G=FCnter. And of course, you will earn your place in the xine galleries. The other news item is about new releases: Currently, we have xine-lib 1-beta1, which is definitely one of the last prereleases before xine-lib 1.0. This release includes experimental support for QuickTime and Windows Media binary codecs, and lots of bug fixes. On the front-end side, we have xine-ui 0.9.16, which comes with some usability improvements, as well as another bunch of bugfixes. Both can be downloaded from our new download page at http://xinehq.de/index.php/download A new release of gxine (0.2.1) is already in preparation and will be available from the download page soon. So once again: Merry Xmas, =09Siggi ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
