xine-ui 0.9.18 and xine-lib 1-beta4 released

Hi,

once more, we have a set of "important" releases:

xine-lib 1-beta4 has been released yesterday.
xine-ui 0.9.18 has just been released.

Both are available from our brushed-up download page at

 http://xinehq.de/index.php/download

Starting from these releases, the xine project officially supports the
current releases (despite the "beta" name) as stable. This is essentially
because they're considered more stable and more advanced than the ancient
0.9.13 releases.

The changelogs would be too long to quote, but here are some highlights
since the last releases (xine-ui 0.9.15 and -lib 1-alpha2) announced here:

xine-ui
  * aaxine use post plugin for video less streams.
  * 'newbie mode' has been renamed 'smart mode', it seems some people,
    found this mode name quite offending (but they was wrong!),
  * add linux fb frontend from Fredrik Noring <[email protected]>,
  * add session control support,
  * support again text subtitle in mrl (::<sub file>),
  * implement skin preview,
  * clicking in time label will show remaining time (and tips show full
time length),
  * apply button added in setup window (changes cancelation possible),

  * support origin path for m3u playlists,
  * automatically hide video window when DXR3 and TVout is used,
  * user experience level configuration support,
  * add support of post plugins. (eg. view MP3s using goom or an oscilloscope)

  * add a real file browser, used to load/save playlist, open a stream,
  * remove embedded libcurl (use conditionally external one),
  * add a xinerama fullscreen, ie a fullscreen on several screens

xine-lib
  * support for reference streams (.asx, .ram)

  * lots of new demuxers (more supported file formats)
  * basic oscilloscope post plugin
  * basic Fast Fourier Transform post plugin
  * CD digital audio input source and stream demuxer
  * NSF audio decoding via Nosefart (first non-linear media file type)
  * gnome-vfs input plugin added
  * external subtitles support. use either MRL syntax like
    "test.mpg#subtitle:file.sub" or the frontend option.
  * updated VIDIX driver (image controls supported)
  * "mms over http" streaming protocol support
  * experimental v4l input plugin (analogue tv)
  * experimental tvout support using nvtvd (configure --enable-nvtv)

  * what a GOOM! post plugin
  * Digital TV (DVB) input plugin (experimental)
  * support for real video 4.0 (through external real binary plugins)

  * network input plugin is working again
  * real media demuxer should handle most files now
  * real media rtsp protocol streaming support
  * mms input plugin cleanup/bugfixes/improvements
  * syncfb and sdl vo plugins ported
  * quicktime binary-only codec support

  * cache available plugins for faster xine loading
  * new version of internal libdvdread fixing some DVD problems
  * fb video output plugin ported to new architecture
  * closed caption support ported to new architecture
