I'll butt in here to say that I'm using Xine as the backend of my own 
media center software, so I do care.  I have a few patches in my local 
repository that fix a few things for the movies I own (including adding 
integer PCM and HDMV/TextST support).  I could send them in if I can 
figure out how (I'm more used to git).
