Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for November 10 is now online at: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20031110.html Summary: There are ten usability mistakes that about two-thirds of corporate websites make. The prevalence of these errors alone warrants attention, especially since they appear on sites with significant investment in usable design. ------------ Film on VHS? A few people have asked whether my new film on paper prototyping is available on videotape. No. We went through a lot of trouble to film and edit this production on the newest all-digital equipment and the resulting video is very crisp when watched on DVD. I tried watching a VHS copy, and it's a wretched experience: much lower quality image and also lower quality sound. DVD also has the advantage that it works world-wide, whereas there are at least three different video standards for tape, making them much more expensive to manufacture and carry in inventory. If there's a big demand for videotape, we will make it available, but I strongly encourage use of a DVD player if at all possible.
