Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for March 1 is now online at:
   http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20040301.html

Summary:
Number fetishism leads usability studies astray by focusing on statistical
analyses that are often false, biased, misleading, or overly narrow.
Better to emphasize insights and qualitative research.

New conference in Sydney

Usability Week in Melbourne is close to selling out.
It is gratifying that this many Australians are interested in usability,
and I would hate to turn away half of them.
It is so difficult to get to Australia that we can't come back any time
soon, so to accommodate the demand, I have added a duplicate event in
Sydney the week after Melbourne.

Usability Week 2004 conference

   > USA: Orlando, San Francisco
   > Europe: London, Copenhagen
   > Australia: Melbourne, Sydney

   > 3-day Intensive Camp: Usability in Practice
