Regarding control-L

It has been said several times that ^L highlights the URL and
selects it, and so is just as good as the old way of doing things.

But that is not so.  In 1.2, you could click the paint-brush, and the
URL would be erased.  With ^L, you get focusing and highlighting, so
yes, you can start typing to overwrite -- but 99% of the time that's
not what I want!  What I want is to apply a URL that I've highlighted
somewhere else and that is currently in the buffer.  This cannot be
done with ^L, which erases the buffer!

(I'm talking here about cut-and-paste the quick way, using the left mouse
to highlight and the middle mouse to paste it somewhere else, not the
Windows ^C-^V way.)

In spite of this loss of functionality from 1.2, I've made my peace
with Galeon 1.3 and use it a lot; I'm thankful to Galeon's developers
and to the patient folks on this list who answer our questions.
