Yes, it is pretty annoying.  One possibility is to end your urls with
'/'.  So instead of entering "server" in the url field, enter "server/".
I think it is an unsatisfactory solution, but maybe it works for some
people.

Otherwise, to quote Peter from the newsgroup:
