I'm talking nonsense. It is not as trivial as that.

I tested all by moving my "production images" from a pixory instance
on Linux to a development pixory on Windows XP. Maintaning all the
albums with text, rotation etc is pretty easy, so that backup works. 

The backup of the database should work too. But when moving to another
machine there is the likelyhood of moving to another imagefolder. I
found this to be impossible. I could not copy the database from 1
machine to another with another imagefolder. So you will loose your
contacts etc. Loosing the contacts and share information is a bummer IMO.

My usage conclusions: 
-Backup images and albums: easy.
-Backup database: easy
-Moving images and albums: easy
-Moving contact data and other config data: tough and sometimes
impossible if changing the structure

Alon asked about a procedure:
The procedure which works for me:
On Linux I create a tar of the image folder(all images and .alb stuff)
and the .pixory folder.

When untarring I shutdown the appserver (Tomcat, Jetty or whatever)
and then put everything back (sometimes removing the pixory.lck.lck file)

My conclusions usage and codewise:
-I think putting the image folder in the database has a negative
effect on migrations.

Joe the ALBUM_FACE and PX_CONFIGURATION_VALUE (haven't looked at the
hibernate mapping) tables contain the imagefolder (f.i
\home\tomcat\pics). When migrating to another imagefolder the database
and the images don't match and Pixory  refuses to start correctly. Is
it an idea to move this value outside of the database (property or
whatnot)  and make this editable outside of Pixory?
Perhaps I oversaw something. In that case I like to know.

I'm not sure how much work Hibernate saves you, but it seems such an
overkill: hypersonic and hibernate for this amount of data.  But I'm a
newbie and perhaps I'm not seeing it correctly.
