Because those folders (.pixory .album) start with ".", they are
automatically "hidden" on Linux/OSX. On Windows, a folder is made
hidden by setting a special flag on the folder. In the standard java
1.4 libraries, there is no way to access that "hidden" flag. 

I agree-- ideally these folders should be hidden. I'll look to see
what techniques java programmers have come up with to set the hidden
flag on windows. There's probably a couple of 3rd party libraries that
handle it.
