Hi Daniel,

In order to 'be in the chain' between you and the internet, it is  
necessary to configure your web browser to 'go via' Privoxy to get to the  
internet. This is done using the proxy options in your web browser;  
Privoxy is set up to 'listen' at 127.0.0.1:8118, so to disable it all you  
need do is remove these entries from your web browser proxy settings.

If you uninstall Privoxy without having removed this proxy setting indeed  
you would not be able to browse the internet at all, since your browser  
would attempt to access the proxy and, it having been uninstalled, would  
then not be able to reach the internet.
