I would guess which version of apache, and how the WSGI stuff was set 
up.  While Steven gives a sample program to replicate the client-side of 
the tests, he gives no indication of how to set up the server-side.

And indeed, we weren't.  Does anyone on the list have Twisted 
experience?  I've run some other products that run under Twisted, but 
I've never written any code for it.  And I'm not sure we want to either, 
if it breaks CGI/mod_python support.  It would be nice if the WSGI layer 
gave us some reasonably fast Twisted support for free.

I was thinking of this when I was reading Ian Bicking's presentation 
from PyCon:

It looks like WSGI is a way to write our app, and have it 
"automatically" connect to Twisted or mod_python or CGI, or what have 
you.  If that's really the way it works, it would make our lives (by 
which I mean Steven's life) a lot easier, since we could just write the 
app once, and have the connectors deal with the various backends.

I was going to post a message asking if we were thinking along these 
lines, or if we had already gone there, and I'm just catching up, but 
then Will posted his message, so I thought I'ld reply to it.
