Hi,

The last year Ramon Navarro (@bloodbare) has been leading the Plone web
team and taking care of the project's team. He is now joining the Framework
Team and he asked me to take this duty, which I agreed immediately!

So, I want to start make a briefing about the state of the art of the
team's projects. There are two main projects, the revamp of plone.org and
the new plone.com website.

We want the new plone.org to be a place that focus on the Plone community,
and the people itself. The new design and planned features are headed
towards it.

This is a list of the tasks to perform:

   - New theme
   - General cleanup of the content (get rid of documentation as it's
already on developer.plone.org, move PSC to an isolated instance, move
providers and other relevant info to plone.com), Plone itself
information, events and foundation will stay in plone.org
   - Implement the new topbar (ploneweb.topbar) common to all plone-themed
   nation websites
   - New community-themed features, enhanced community member profile,
badges, achivements, contributions, jenkins integration, teams involved, etc

For those who haven't noticed, there are already mockups for both plone.organd
plone.com. You can find it here:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzKEPxDtlwSzbEdublF1SUdqS0U/edit?usp=sharing

We intend to push this project forward and finish it asap and we are short
handed! I you want to contribute, please keep in touch with me.

It will be great if someone could organize an sprint focused in these
subjects with the main goal to push it all into production.

Cheers,
