Hey everybody!

First of all, three days ago we've started a conversation between Nathan,
rozeboom.eric, Oriol, Victor and me about plone.com and plone.org.
There has been a lot of agreements on both sides and I assume that none has
read the team leader
report<http://plone.org/news/plone-team-leaders2019-report-july-2013>where
we've explained our progress.

I really don't understand at all the report from bastille sprint on the
plone web side, so let's see a bit of recent story :

   - Elisabeth asked that somebody should take care about plone.org, I
   assumed the role and started a working document to define the basis of what
   should be changes.
   - On this document, after showing to lots of members from the Plone
   Community and shared on the plone-developers list and communication list ,
   we defined a initial mockup that shows the new plone.org.
   - Using the same energy we helped Armin to define a initial step on
   plone.com redesign and defined a multiple mockups to integrate some
   visualitzation.
   - During this process we also told the nations list that their slimbar
   should be converted to something shared among all the plone sites


So finally we dedided that we needed three projects: ploneweb.topbar,
plone.org redesign, plone.com design/concept:

On plone nation has been some movement to push this topbar, injected with
javascript, centralized on GitHub and with some working implementation that
helps on evolving:

We defined plone.org as a community site, a place where we can communicate,
show people, see plone as a community, with the foundation, with the
activity, the profiles...

Victor has began the implementation of the theme, Oriol has been working on
the mockups about profiles and I've been writing a plan about what should
be done ( and I mean possible be done ) to get plone.org a new, fresh,
community driven face.

All work is going forward, finally Victor took the responsability of this
project because I was moving to FWT and I didn't want to be too stressed.
On the plone leader meeting we defined our plan:


   - Sneridagh is working on a Plone theme with Diazo that applies the new
   design for plone.org.
   - We have a complete backup of plone.org, so we can begin a migration
   plan and apply the design.
   - We are going place Plone Software Center on a separate Plone instance,
   so it can be dealt with on its own in the future.
   - We will migrate to the new instance the content that is going to be on
   plone.org: Foundation, About Plone, Events, etc.
   - ploneweb.topbar will be the top navigation bar for the Plone
   ecosystem, with links to developers/plone.com and national sites.
   - We are working on plone.org community features: Main-page indicators,
   main-page photos of community people and developer profiles, with
   information about commits, breaks on Jenkins, related teams, etc.

Our idea is to write a scheduling plan and push it to plone-developers in
order to find people who want to help (right now we are ¾ of a full team).

The final point would be a sprint (we are looking for somebody who wants to
organize this), in which we will stop plone.org, move and organize content,
and put it online again.

On Sorrento sprint Armin and Matt worked to deploy a plone.com, on Munich
sprint we've talked about plone.com content looking for videos and
creating a basic HTML implementation so it's easy to start. At the end of
Sorrento sprint the site was created and nearly ready to begin to fill
content. Our main preocupation was to get the needed information, videos,
quotes, ... from plone companies to fill the site.

There has been a lot of work, it has been informed at plone-developers list
and team leaders report. We are trying to go as fast as possible but after
a lot of talking we need to be productive and implement the needed parts,
we need hands and people with time to implement it and move forward. So
IMHO all help is great and usability reports are great, but if there is a
team on plone that has been working and informing about all this movement,
we should try to work together and take care about others jobs. We are all
volunteers, we spended a lot of hours, talks, to be where we are now and I
hope that we can move faster together.
