So, what are you using then? Bob -----Original Message----- From: Jota [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, April 27, 2015 6:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Plone-Users] Plone 5.0 release date Thanks for the very few people that made positive comments of my posts here. I really appreciated that. The others seems to see the trees, but missed the forest...... In short: since 2-3 years ago (around P4.1 I think) my boss decided we will no more use Plone for new client projects. So, for me it is somehow indifferent if Plone is going to kill itself. But deep inside, having used Plone for almost 10 years, yes I do care. And I try to stay tuned in. Some time ago, I had volunteered for the marketing team, and one guy from the team asked me to explain in more detail my ideas. I lost a sunny Sunday afternoon and a warm beach writing a long email with my ideas and proposals in detail. Never received a reply!!! So, please take your conclusions.... This is nothing new. If the community want the best volunteers to step in, to engage, the community has to care for them. To motivate them. Unless it only wants the lousy ones.... (if you want a quick couple of examples of the wrong way to do things (or should I say plain incompetence?), don't go very far, just read this same thread with a open mind... they will struck your head ;-)) So, having observed the Plone saga from some distance, I really think that in the past few years, there are people in key jobs that simply are not up to the task. Simply and easy as that. If that people are not selfish, they should step down, and give others the opportunity to try to make things in a better way. But ok, having said all that, now I fully understand that the vast majority seems satisfied with what Plone has became, so I promise I /will try/ to refrain myself in the future and not write such inconvenient posts anymore. I sincerely apologies if I had hurt the feelings of someone. It is nothing personal, I can assure, I really love the community as a whole. And by the way... the problem I had described earlier was not on the beta, it was on some 4.3x release... and, serious... why on earth will I show a Plone 5 beta to a prospective client??? Am i crazy??? :-) -- View this message in context: http://plone.293351.n2.nabble.com/Plone-5-0-release-date-tp7573694p7573755.h tml Sent from the General Questions mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y _______________________________________________ Plone-Users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/plone-users ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y
