Ok, very strange.

I just reinstalled Python 3.5 using that very package, created a new virtualenv using the newly installed pyvenv, and ZODB failed to install exactly as I describe in my original post, numpy and scipy install just fine.

I’m using El Capitan 10.11.4, Xcode 7.2, Command Line Tools 7.2 (7C68), if that is different than what you are using please let me know.

The problem I’m having certainly appears related to the ZODB installer not finding the system include and lib folders, I don’t know if the other packages I install need them in the same way as they are successful.

In checking my environment, I see only variables related to activating the new virtual environment, specifically VIRTUAL_ENV and the path to its bin directory prepended to the PATH variable.

Do you have any other Python related environment variables set? Either before or after sourcing the virtual environment activate?

Thanks!

Joseph Nunn
