Hi Fist, do not replay to a old post when starting a new thread, copy&paste the email to a new email or remove the reference headers if your email allows it, so it will not attach back to the old thread :) On Sun, 18 Dec 2016 16:13:43 +0000, [email protected] wrote: > to work with Wayland? X11 window manager like fluxbox are client apps that manage the location and size of windows for the X11 server to draw. Wayland only have one "block", closer to what it was the X11 server than to the X11 client and it is it that manage directly the size and location of apps. The part that manage windows size, location and other parts by default is called weston Porting fluxbox to wayland is replacing the weston with new code and very little is reused from the current code as they have totally different designs. > So do I have to worry about Flux in future? I'm not a fluxbox dev, so i can not tell you if it will be ported or not, but i can tell it would take lots of work On the good side, we currently have already some alternatives, check this list of wayland replacement to weston: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wayland#Window_managers_and_desktop_shells good luck higuita -- Naturally the common people don't want war... but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country. -- Hermann Goering, Nazi and war criminal, 1883-1946 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Fluxbox-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fluxbox-users
