I am using icewm 1.3.6 which I have installed ok on a range of other machines. I have not tried 1.3.7 yet (I am not currently near the machine in question) but I don't see any relevant changes in the 1.3.7 sources. I am trying to replace the gnome desktop on a Scientific Linux (which is a RHEL clone) machine with icewm. This machine uses a mobile broadband connection which is controlled via kppp and, prior to connection, all kppp functions work correctly. After a connection has been made, kppp places itself in the tray, but only a tiny vertical line, a few pixels high and a couple or so pixels across is displayed in the tray instead of the normal kppp control icon. Furthermore, even this tiny line disappears after a icewm restart while everything else is reloaded correctly. The vendor supplied version of icewm (version 1.2.37) when using the same icewm configuration files works perfectly. However, this version was built without the gnome menu support and I wish to use the 1.3.x series anyway for it's additional functionality. BTW, using the ppp0 monitor in icewm is not a option because, among other things, the kppp control icon gives you the ability to disconnect the PPP session. Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking ?
