You can't win, though.  Invariably it's blamed on any number of things *except* the poor developers or poor quality or the deliverables.

I feel like a US auto worker in the 70's.  And given my absolutely miserable experience with the last two American cars I've owned (and stellar experience with the last two Hondas I've owned), I hope the US software industry does a better job recovering than the US auto industry did.

For another opinion on that topic ;) As far as another offshore project goes
that I is currently conducted at the company where I am presently at, I
can't say that it's very cost effective up to this point. So far it's been
wearing out the local staff that's supporting the ramp-up in India with late
night phone conferences, and other issues. Unless they get productive there
soon, I can't see any cost advantage over having the work done here.

I don't know if that's representative for each and every project moved
offshore, but I have yet to meet someone who's glowingly telling me about a
completely successful offshore project. I just wish decision makers would
talk to the same people I do.
