I have worked with this team for a year and they rock -- and they need a Technical Product Manager and a Group Product Manager with very strong WebServices/SQL/XML experience. Group Manager: Create and execute strategies to increase market share in key customer segments, including the enterprise and small and medium businesses; work closely with the sales force to execute go to market initiatives; increase the scope and penetration of the business intelligence and data warehouse business; and drive key messages and activities across IT, developer, and business decision maker audiences. In addition, the Group Product Manager will be responsible for working closely with other managers to shape the overall SQL Server marketing strategy; effectively managing other product managers, ensuring execution against strategy and career growth; and working with teams across Microsoft to help grow the entire server business. For this job, you need a minimum of 10 years of product management experience, and 6 years managing marketing teams of up to 10 product managers, preferably in the enterprise software space. A demonstrated ability to build and manage teams and create strong working relationships across organizations is required. A sense of humor and desire to have fun is highly desirable. Product Manager Drive rapid developer adoption of Microsoft's tools and technologies. Set Server's developer community objectives. Provide technical leadership and guidance. Work in tandem with the Visual Studio and MSDN product units to drive Microsoft's success with developers. Success requires effective interaction with customers and internal groups combined with leadership and teamwork. You also need a strong passion for technology, a successful track record in technical product marketing, project management, and product planning, strong strategic thinking, inter-departmental team building, excellent verbal and written communication, and general technical knowledge of Microsoft development technologies (including Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Enterprise Servers and Windows 2000) and strategies. Knowledge of Web development technologies is a must! Candidate must be a creative thinker who can drive new and innovative additions to Microsoft SQL Server's technical marketing programs and content for developers. BA/BS degree is required.
