Question: Did you used the Windows 8.1 upgrade over the existing Windows 
8 or a fresh installation on a brand-new system? Was EccoPro installed 
when you upgraded?

As with any new software release which reaches the market, we do not 
recommend upgrading to Windows 8.1 until all the initial Microsoft bugs 
disappear.
