Manual input of Done date

I have a notepad that is essentially a work plan with various date and 
other columns, including a Done column.  I work mainly in a filtered 
view of the notepad that does not include Done items.

If I click on a Done cell, it accepts it as Done today, as expected.  
But if I move the cursor into the Done cell and type a date other than 
today, the row disappears as expected, but it is always recorded as Done 
today, regardless of what date I typed in.  I then have to go into the 
unfiltered view and manually correct the Done date.

Why does that happen and how do I get Ecco to accept the Done date 
manually entered in the filtered view?
