Purchasing Visual Studio without MSDN

Since we're all talking again... and at the risk of being dangerously
on-topic... :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase just Visual Studio
Enterprise without an MSDN subscription..?

Over here on the Microsoft Store Visual Studio Enterprise is only
available bundled with an MSDN subscription for $4,000+ (ouch):

I have a trial version of Visual Studio Enterprise installed on my new
Windows 10 virtual machine that is valid until November 14. Ideally I'd
just be able to register that version and save myself the nuisance of
uninstalling/reinstalling.

Or maybe I don't want Visual Studio Enterprise and I want
Express/Community/Professional instead..?

I have an old code base (C# 2 I think) that I'm planning to resurrect
for fun and profit and I need an IDE for it. My project is a web
interface (implementing IHttpHandler and taking it from there, no real
ASP.NET integration) to Analysis Services cubes exposed by their
XML/SOAP thingamajig...
