Numpad commands

For many years I have used pad commands for various functions with Windows XP.
 Recently I have been using Windows 7 and in the last couple of days if I hit pad+/ in a Word document to toggle window max/min it instead enters '/', thereby ignoring the pad bit.
 Any ideas?
