I stuck everything that could be changed on the fly, via the popup menus with 
xtextedit, into volatile.rc, because those settings were... volatile. =) 
Everything in my themevars.rc had to be edited the old fashioned way (you know, 
using a magnetized paper click and poking at your HD platters...). So although 
both of them might be changed by the user, they would only edit themevars.rc, 
and probably only do that once. They shouldn't ever need to touch the contents 
of volatile.rc manually, but those contents are probably changing frequently. 
IOW, I just separated the content based on how it was used. It doesn't have to 
be that way, but you can imagine that the possibilities of an "accident" with 
xtextedit are likely minimized that way!
