Re: ping - Ack!

You know, on the subject of, "what did her in": I did a few searches -- 
looking for people we all used to cross paths with --  and it occurred 
to me that more than a few came over to the DarkSide from the Mac. And 
quite a few went right back there as soon as the Mac's rep was 
resuscitated.

I tend to think that's where some of the energy of Litestep and other 
replacement shells drained off to. Well, that & MS co-opted the 
replacement shell and made the corporate offerings a  little more 
palatable.  And Apple has made "I'm unique just like them!", a mantra 
for the masses. *shrug*
