I was waiting for someone else to mention xmove in this thread. Think of it
as screen(1) for X11.

It seems quite unmaintained right now (please correct me if I'm wrong), and
there is no official homepage as far as I can see. The debian source
packages might be the best way to get hold of it:
http://packages.qa.debian.org/x/xmove.html

It has a couple of limitations, you can't move windows to servers another
depth and extensions aren't supported for example. As far as I'm concerned,
it is an amazing piece of work anyway.
