It's installed in /usr/local

I made gmake uninstall first and after that installed it.

I think it's a solaris hack. When it sees you have LANG set to something 
other than
C it sticks that little window. there is a gtk hack to switch that off 
for gtk apps.
There is a bug report to switch that for java apps.

I have LANG=en_US.UTF-8. Can you confirm that in identical environment 
you disabled that window?
