Citronella in fuel

Has anyone tried using a drop or two of citronella (or simular oil/chemical) in alcohol or on an esbit tablet? Would it help like a citronella candle does at urging mossies to go to someone else's campsite? How many drops would it take? I don't have any citronella oil right now to experiment with or I try it.
