For what it is worth;  I suggest getting an e-reader without a back-lit
screen.  I have both the original Kindle and a new Kindle Fire.  While I
like the Kindle Fire; it sucks battery power.  The original Kindle battery
lasts for weeks, but you need to use a head lamp at night.  Also the
original kindle is lighter than the fire.
