Interesting, I've used a few Asian foods while backpacking but am not
familiar with Eastern European foods that might make good backpacking
ingredients. What are the Eastern European foods that you use? My city
has a substantial number of Ukrainian immigrants, and the grocery stores
sometimes have a selection of items from the Balkans; there are probably
Russian stores too although they don't seem to be prominent.
