Power Pack Suggestions needed

I bought an i/o magic power pack http://www.iomagic.com/ from Staples.  Charged it, then hooked it up to my iPhone 4s ....... it discharged completely but did not recharge my phone.  I tried it three times ... nada. 

I'm about to go backpacking starting from Maryland and will return it when I get back to Tennessee ... in the meantime.  Anyone got a good quick suggestion ... I have one week to find a replacement and I don't think I have enough time to wait for one to come in the mail.  

I'm planning to use my phone as my camera as well as write on my blog ... and I will keep it in Airplane mode except when using it for posting on my blog while on the Trail.
