Emme,
I think I'll write more about this later-
but for now all I have is Tom Elpel's vision of the Indian
Scout-
which I think is similar to what Tom Brown actually did for
a year-

The vision is of being skilled enough to live indefinitely
in the wilderness, as a nomad.

I imagine (haven't given this much [thinking] time yet)
adding urban survival skills to this-
having enough skill to travel between ecovillages (and
through urban areas if necessary), by foot, and without
money, in a way that is still health affirming.

Basically, being a travelling homeless person - probably
most at home in the forest, but able to manage in urban
areas a{ well.

Peace pilgrim is an influence here.

So are the technomads I met in austin.

This would be quite a challenge-
even if one were able to master wilderness/ jungle nomadic
living, one would also have to deal with polluted and
populated urban areas as well.

Since I generally seem to prefer travelling alone, this is
something I see myself doing alone.

Also since I know I like libraries, I imagine moving from
library to library, and finding places to sleep nearby while
I read some books.

I would never accept rides from cars (peace pilgrim
eventually did-- and died in a car-crash) (I might have to
avoid deserts/ areas I could not survive in)

This is off-topic for this list, so we could keep talking
about this off list (or perhaps there's another list already
talking about this sort of thing)

Part of my interest in this idea is:
I see very little need for building anything-
There is so much waste- it should be easy to get by in Urban
areas without money (If you know the right places to go for
healthy leftover food (old fruit & veggies?) & places to
sleep).

oh- and I don't seem desirous of settling down, having
family and so on.

And one could migrate with the season/ rainfall / so on.

(I've already practiced being homeless in NYC for two weeks
and Prague for three nights, and other places in europe for
a month, (but I was on bicycle for that month). I've also
always used money to buy food.)

I do think eating a pure organic rawfoods diet on a belize
EV would be healthier, but...

That's all I have for now.

Don't forget the possibility of sailing across the atlantic.
Make your travels epic.
Then you can regain magical realms (Like in Tolkien's
books).
