I wonder who actually said this and what they based it on? I imagine it is more likely to be true for very top and very bottom sellers but I suspect it is not based on hard data so much as hope and enthusiasm. My month sales of ebooks is typically in the hundreds, over a thousand copies some months. My total sales through kindle since its inception would be about 3 copies. > I was surprised to read that "'The market is very narrowly confined, to New York and > Seattle and to a few people who travel and read a lot,' says Frank Daniels III, chief > operating officer for Ingram Digital, a leading e-distributor." Hmm. I think he might have what might best be called 'an overly narrow view' of what the ebook market is if he thinks is is mainly to do with people who travel alot and live in two cities in America. I should think, for example, he is overlooking the worldwide ebook market for romance, erotica, niche fiction and non-fiction, self-help etc. As such I would discount opinions this individual offers as rather narrowly based to epublishers focussed on selling to e-Sony readers who spend a lot of time in airports. (I happen to be one such person but don't live anywhere near new york and so would still be excluded from his vision of the marketplace). ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Post a message: ebook-community [[at]] * Unsubscribe: ebook-community-unsubscribe [[at]] * Switch to digest: ebook-community-digest [[at]] * Switch to normal: ebook-community-normal [[at]] * Put mail on hold: ebook-community-nomail [[at]] * Administrator: ebook-community-owner [[at]] * (* == yahoogroups.com) -------------------------------------------------------Yahoo!
