RE: Amazon Kindle now $359

There's no reason to feel discouraged. Gadget prices always, always fall.
 
As an ebook publisher as well, I'm happy to see them lowering the price.
 
Even the mighty iPhone was cut a whopping $200 dollars about three months after it came out. And that was selling like hot cakes.
 
$40 dollars (10%) isn't really that big a deal. 
 
Most of us walk past stuff in stores when it is only discounted 10% (at least I do, 40% and you've got my attention ;)
 
I think Amazon is wise to cut the price to continue to generate press and grab a few more buyers, no matter how well it is or isn't selling. They are now cheaper than the Cybook and not too much more than the Sony Reader.
 
Lower prices always sell more of anything.
 
Plus, there is starting to be pressure to bring the cost of these devices down with the exception of iRex and the iLiad (who will have to wake up and smell the digital ink at some point) with Astak on the brink of releasing a device sub $200 that will have Mobipocket preinstalled.
