That's a _very_ interesting point, and one which I had totally missed. (Although it is related to my comments about old business models.)

I don't know about anyone else, but if every Kindle automatically came with free electronic copies of every book I've ever bought from Amazon, I'd buy one a Kindle in an instant.

And if Amazon offered to sell me a Kindle copies of any title for a "trade-in" price of $3, provided I shipped them my print copy of the same book, they'd be getting a couple of hundred pounds of media mail from me.
