Seriously, a little paragraph on how you depend on this book for your
livelihood, please be responsible should do the trick.

Probably some people will be dicks no matter what you do, but taking a
polite tone and not getting shirty about how passing it on without
paying is STEALING will at least not drive anyone on the fence toward
doing it just to spite you.
