It might make no sense to a salaried scribbler of articles, but...

It makes big fat bunches of sense to people who get paid by the number of books sold.

I don't know how HCP came up with 26 as a proper number of times to lend before expiration. Maybe they'll tell us someday. :)

Could be ebooks will cause the library model of operation to change.
On the other hand, HCP can't enforce a 26 limit on its paper products, so it could also be HCP will have to rethink its limitation concept.
