Actually, I highly suggest that people who don't want to invest in every
ebook as a keeper form groups of readers with similar tastes and hardware
and use the lending systems already in place with sites like B&N and Amazon
to create a buying conglomerate. That way, if you have (say) six of you, you
can do legal shares and buy less often. Of course, used books are also an
option.

YES! You get it. I have no problem with that. I highly suggest it and did in
discussion, but not for every book.

Again, we're in perfect agreement. I pointed out to one pirate that it's
fine to say that ereaders should be cheaper, and they will be soon. But to
say ebooks should be cheaper or free, because they paid some obnoxious
amount for the tech (tech they don't need, BTW) is ridiculous. Authors make
no money from the sale of the tech. Our livelihood shouldn't be compromised
for a choice the reader made. That's just not sensible.
