Re: Update your news reader to point to news.gmane.io

I've done some further testing of the transfer stuff, and I found two
things that skewed the results somewhat (a 10% resubscription rate):
First of all, I was testing with the first groups in the hierarchy, and,
of course, the gmane.comp.ai lists are mostly dead, because nobody does
AI any more, right?  So they just bounced.

I also discovered some problems with routing the "confirm to subscribe"
messages for non-Mailman lists to the right place so that they could be
confirmed, but I think I've now hacked my way through that problem.  (By
creating a mechanism so that all messages for the group in question goes
to the gmane.config group for half an hour after sending the
subscription request; there may be some message lossage during that
time.)

So I've now 128 groups, and 41 of those were successfully resubscribed,
so that's a 32% resubscription rate.

And my guess (from looking at all the bounces I'm getting) is that most
of those lists that are not resubscribed are dead.

So moving the 15K lists to gmane-mx.org seems feasible, and it should
just be an evening's work (and it's pretty mindless, so I should be able
to do it while watching Witcher (speaking of mindless)).

I'll start the Big Process in a couple of days.
