[poedit-users] [newbie] msgids instead of source language msgstrs

Hello,

I'm a newbie both to Poedit and *.po files and start by saying that I
searched for a similar issue in the archive without finding nothing.
I have just installed Poedit version 1.3.6 on a Windows XP OS and
something looks like not working properly.
In the Original String column msgid strings appear instead of the source
language strings, i.e., I see two columns, the first one, 'Original
strings' which shows msgid strings like 'a_cancel_installation', for
instance, and the second one, 'Translation' which shows the source
language strings, i.e., 'Cancel Installation', instead of being empty.

If I am correct, the 'Original string' column should show the source
language strings and I should input the translation in the bottom pane
which contains the source strings instead, as well as the 'Translation'
column.
Why this behavior? Might it be anything to do with something wrong in
the .po file, or I'm mistaking in something?
