Yes, it's suboptimal. OTOH, the people completely new to gettext are
supposed to be translators, i.e. people who do not need to create new
catalogs, but are given catalogs or POTs for translation...

And *my* point is that if you knew a bit more about gettext (which you
should if you're using it in your app), you would know that the source
is English and hence "Language" field on *single-language* translation
catalog must mean the translation language. You're right that being
explicit wouldn't hurt, though, thanks for the tip.
