It turns out that we have had a multiplicity of entries in ezproxy.hst that should have been detected as orphaned hosts or "unused for over 30 days" (and thus removable with the Admin Screen action). This was causing Needhost errors for some domains that had been removed from config.txt but still had entries in ezproxy.hst.

I resolved this - temporarily - by removing ezproxy.hst and letting Ezproxy rebuild it. Watching this process has been a little confounding. Over the course of 45 minutes, 439 new virtual hosts have appeared. Many of them have no successful accesses, but all have at least one attempted access. While they are all covered in config.txt, at least two of them do not show up in the log file at all... So why do they have entries?

I can't find much documentation on this file. Does anyone know more about it?

thanks
Karl
