But since then I have discovered a more severe issue of this package: http://bugs.debian.org/292322 The license situation is unclear, and the package might be non-free. Hm, considering this, I think I should do the NMU anyway. It does break auctex (and probably other packages) *now*, but a removal due to a bad license might take time; it will take even more time if the author promises to clear up the license situation.
