Ok, all is not yet great, but I am checking in the code in its current state that is supposed to deal with icons in varying sizes, and gets rid of the ICON_FORM stuff. So the changes for XEmacs would probably be largest which is why I have not tested them at all... However, it is important that with all the renaming of icons going on, I can check for oversights, and for that, I need to remove the old icons, rendering the old code inoperative. Then there are matters of taste involved that need sorting out and feedback: there is now fine-grained control for switching icon sizes and positions of the various in-text icons, and it would be good if people with different font sizes played around and checked just _what_ sizes look good and at what point icons should be switched over to the next size for nicety. It is also possible to, say, decide to adapt the ascent value of an icon instead of switching to the next smaller size. All this is a matter of taste and of "typical" fonts. So give this a beating and experiment and report even though stuff may not work completely yet. And of course, if it doesn't, I want to hear about it, too. Another thing that I am queasy about is the icon size decision when a desktop gets restored, namely when a desktop-restored preview gets clicked open before a new run of preview-latex. This might or might not work, and this may differ between Emacs and XEmacs. -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
