hi, if you only wants to input chinese via scim, you do not have to install mule-ucs things. just the Gnu Emacs mule system will do the work. you can simply add `(set-keyboard-coding-system 'chinese-iso-8bit)' to your .emacs or .emacs.el file to use it. and if you want to input GBK or GB18030 fonts into your chinese file, you need mule-gbk or emacs-unicode-2 brunch to do that work. best regards yours FKtPp
