Hi, The key rules are cited below. A Gun is a MULTIPLE ROF weapon ... as such, if it is already marked with a first fire counter, it is entitled to one additional shot during Final Fire at an adjacent or same-hex target (A8.41). This shot is considered Intensive Fire which incurs the +2 to hit penalty of C5.61. (It is not treated as Area Fire). As for the references in table C5: - stunned and pinned firer modifiers are NA since the gun can't Intensive Fire at all if the crew is stunned/pinned/shocked (C5.6) - Case B is NA because you can't use IF in the AFPH unless you are an opportunity firer in when case B doesn't apply anyway (C5.6) - case D is again NA since a pinned firer can't IF (C5.6) That is my take anyway ... Cheers, David --- A8.41 MULTIPLE ROF: Any Multiple-ROF weapon which is not marked with a First, Final, Intensive or No Fire counter (even though it may have fired during First Fire) is still entitled to multiple attack possibilities during Final Fire, and at any target, not just adjacent ones. Any weapon marked with a First Fire counter and capable of Intensive Fire (C5.6) or Sustained Fire (A9.3) may use such for one additional attack during Final Fire only vs. adjacent or same-hex targets. C5.6 CASE F; INTENSIVE FIRE: Intensive Fire is available only to Guns (not SW), and can be used only if the crew of the Gun is not pinned, shocked, or stunned. An Intensive Firing Gun automatically gains one (and only one [EXC: OVR Prevention; 5.64]) additional shot during that Player Turn. Intensive Fire cannot be used during the AFPh except by an Opportunity Firer. A Gun cannot use Intensive Fire until it has already exhausted its normal ROF. A Gun which has Intensive Fired replaces its fire phase counter with an Intensive Fire counter. 5.61 TO HIT PENALTY: Any Gun using Intensive Fire must add the +2 DRM of Case F to its Intensive Fire To Hit DR to reflect loss of accuracy. Does the target really have to be adjacent? > > > Relevant rules: > A8.4 [Final Fire]: "Any such units/weapons that are marked with a First Fire counter may also fire again . . . but as Area Fire" > C.4 "If the firer's status would impose Area Fire Case D applies" > C5 Table: Intensive Fire (... Rule A8.4 is really unclear whether it applies to this situation at all (especially in light of A8.41). Regardless, no one seems to be applying Case D in this situation (and most don't even seem to follow the requirement that the target be adjacent). > > > My apologies if this is the wrong forum, it's just that I've gotten 3 different answers to this. > > > Thanks, RS > _______________________________________________ > Aslml mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.aslml.net/listinfo.cgi/aslml-aslml.net > To unsubscribe, visit the above website, or email [email protected] -- David Elder University of Toronto david-tJaOsOnekaxy6FVk5UMYRG+DJq1SqhBbsOSz5zK2v9k@public.gmane.org Institute for Aerospace Studies Tel: 416-667-7891 or 905-839-8180 Fusion Research Group Fax: 416-667-7799 _______________________________________________ Aslml mailing list [email protected] http://lists.aslml.net/listinfo.cgi/aslml-aslml.net To unsubscribe, visit the above website, or email [email protected]
