More generally, there are still buggy routers in existence that may re-allocate a UDP port every once in a while -- there are still routers in the wild that re-set themselves from scratch once an hour or something mad like that, and re-establish all session state after re-set. Of course, there are also games that will kick you if you drop a single UDP packet. My kids have to run a wire across the living room floor to play ToonTown Online, because the wireless in my house is not reliable enough, and they'll get kicked every 3 minutes otherwise...
