http://www.wotsit.org/ !!!!!! Bookmark that site it is very useful! But for obj, if you aren't too picky you can work out fairly easily from just opening an obj file in a text editor. its like: o someRandomObject v 1.000 2.423 -14.443 v 45.100 5.875 2.11 v -5.644 5.654 -10.234 n 1.000 0.000 0.000 uv 0.0 1.0 uv 1.0 1.0 uv 0.0 0.0 f 1/1/1 2/2/1 3/3/1 I bet you can figure that out!! There are a few fiddly bits to the format, some programs output strange variations, but they are easy to figure out aswell. I have some obj import code I can mail you that will parse and import a simple model, but I am about to go home so I will check my mail again on monday. -----Original Message----- Bram Biesbrouck Sent: 27 January 2006 17:12 To: Multiple recipients of list OPENGL-GAMEDEV-L Op vrijdag 27 januari 2006 17:52, schreef William Woodbury: > Get hold of a library that handles import of your desired format (lib3DS or > something like it) and use that, or get hold of the specs for the format > and write your own importer. > I usually import models using the wavefront obj format, or the lightwave > formats as they are text based as opposed to binary and so can be read in a > text editor and altered. Could you point me to a page or resource where I can find information on importing obj format models? > -----Original Message----- > Bram Biesbrouck > Sent: 27 January 2006 16:07 > To: Multiple recipients of list OPENGL-GAMEDEV-L > > > Hi all, > > I don't know if this is a stupid question, but can someone present me the > options to importing a mesh in an openGL-program, that was created with a > modeler program like Blender (Linux)? > I found some interesting projects that convert .obj file formats to > c-header files that can be used by the program to draw the objects.
