AUSTRIA RECONSTITUTES NAVAL BRANCH - GRAND ADMIRAL VOWS TO "STAY 
CLOSER TO SHORE" AFTER '01 SINKINGS! (Trieste)  In a surprise move 
today, the Austrian Ministry of War announced that after six months 
of secret construction, 4 new "rescue cruisers" had been 
commissioned, officially re-constituting the Austrian Naval Division. 
Ministry officials expressly denied that the division was built for 
primarily military purposes, although the head of the division, Dr. 
Emil Rauschmann, does bear the title of "Grand Admiral".  Dr. 
Rauschmann declared that the large calibre weapons on the cruisers 
were added solely to protect Austrian salvage vessels, whose mission 
would be to locate and recover the wrecks of the prior Grand Fleet. 
Once that mission is complete, Dr. Rauschmann stressed, the ships of 
the AND would most definitely remain on coastal patrol and not 
venture into open waters.  "We will see what the future brings," Dr. 
Rauschmann stated, "but for now, we are content with re-training our 
boys in the ways of the sea."
